MR. HOWARD BOWER Sponsors The February class of 1959 has been for- tunate in having throughout the senior year such an able adviser as Mr. Howard Bower, who has proved friend as well as sponsor. Mr. Bower is a graduate of Westminister College, and holds a Master's degree from the Univer- sity of Pittsburgh. He came to South Hills in 1955 from Latimer Junior High School, where he taught mathematics for five years. We suspect, on occasion, that Mr. Bower takes our problems not quite so seriously as we do, for at no time throughout our tribulations has he lost his sense of humor. We have enjoyed his companionship and are most grateful to him. May good fortune attend you, Mr. BOWe1'- Fishing is the dignified way of doing noth- ing. That's why I enjoy it. The speaker is Mr. James Cichra, sponsor of the June graduating class. Contrary to his statement, Mr. Cichra does anything but sit around and do nothing. Besides teaching history here at South Hills, he gives time to his photography, an interest he has had since he was eleven years old. More important still, he performs the duties of the class sponsor with ease and enthusiasm. Mr. Cichra is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and holds a Master's degree in Edu- cation. He came to South Hills in 1955 from Oliver High School, where he taught social studies and geography for three years. Since we were 9B's, Mr. Cichra has advanced with our class. As June Seniors, we admire him greatly for his fairness and understanding. Be- cause of him, our social activities have been more fun. We hope that he, too, has enjoyed our association. A salute to you, Mr. Cichra. MR. JAMES CICHRA
