Each day for four years, the 1955 seniors have moved toward graduation by taking merely one step at a time. Then, too, this book was assembled by the staff step by step. On occasions, we found ourselves walking up a blind alley and had to make an about-face. Moreover, we have often missed a step and have had to catch ourselves. Cn the whole, however, we have enjoyed the journey. As you go through these pages, we request you to ex- amine each picture, read each caption, keeping in mind that the book itself is both a step back in memory and a most important one ahead, for those fortunate seniors of 1955 whose high school route passed through South Hills.
