Although the baseball team at South High School was not supported by fans as avidly as some of the other sports it still managed to represent the school honorably. The members of the team played with great pride and enthusiasm in spite of the many weather-cancelled games and numerous attempts at re- scheduling. When asked how he felt the baseball team was as a whole, Pepper Bego replied, I felt the players did their best but somehow they didn ' t seem to be able to put their talents together to make a winning combination. The team showed much aggressiveness but it seemed that the hits just wouldn ' t come together to create a winning score. Keith Morgan was chosen as Most Valuable Player for the year and he will be returning next year to help lead the ' 82 team.
