As one of the smallest sport ' s groups at South, this five man team played individually but compiled their record as a team. Under the leadership of senior Bret Kugler, the golf team won eight of its matches and a pleased Coach Jim Moyers stated that this year ' s team did show an over-all improvement. Coach Moyers felt that his team was handicapped by lack of pre-high school experience and little team practice before the early fall season began but he felt that the team members worked hard and did well finishing ninth in the WOL. When asked how he had enjoyed his participation on the golf team, three year member Bret Kugler said, My experience in golf was a good one because we had a good coach. Although we didn ' t win many matches, Coach Moyers kept encouraging us. We were a small group, but everyone on the team developed a friendship for each other and we all got along well. That is essential to a team where individuals must participate on their own, for without a feeling of togetherness, little can be accomplished. 1 . Bret Kugler. 2. Richard Babineaux. 3.
