BACKING THE CATS Welcome to South . .. My name is Terri ... Wildcats want a victory . .. We don ' t need no music . ..were frequently heard at football and basketball games whenever members of the P.R. Club and Willie ' s Fan Club were around. P.R. Club was a fairly new organization which met and welcomed visiting players, fans, and cheerleaders to South before each game. Terri Estes, a member of the P.R. Club sa id, P.R. Club is fun and exciting because you get to meet people from different schools. The club was a great success this year under the guidance of Mrs. Betty Deem and Mr. Bob Kugler, who was given a plaque at the end of basketball season for the time and devotion he gave to the club. One of the most spirited groups at South was Willie ' s Fan Club, made up of young men and women who supported the athletes and coaches of South High School. In doing this they attended all home and away games, wearing club shirts to signify that they were a special group. It ' s been said many times by team members, coaches, and parents that the Fan Club with their spirit and enthusiasm pulled the teams through many tough games. S ' 1. Terri Estes. DOING A JOB In every busy office there are hundreds of little jobs that need to be done. Taking messages to teachers, answering phones, running off tests and work sheets, delivering projectors and A-V materials to classrooms, and helping out when ever and where ever a job needed to be done were just some of the jobs taken care of by the office aides and the A-V assistants at South. Mr. Wright felt that this year ' s aides were very dependable and Mr. Barrett acclaimed his A-V aides as good workers who quickly learned to work with the new equipment. Throughout the office complex, secretaries and administrators agreed that the aides were indispensible to the smooth running of the school. Mrs. Warren, who worked very closely with the student aides, stated that it would be hard to run the office without the assistance of the student workers and Mr. Roger Baker stated, I have found the office aides most co- operative and capale of doing a real business-like job for us. 1.
