SINGING TO THE WORLD i What would a program be without music? What would a school be without a song to hum through class? Life would not be the same without music and thus the choirs are important at South. Not only do they perform at school-oriented activities, they also perform for various organizations outside the school. They practice very hard for their programs and develope a feeling of harmony and togetherness. We learned to work together and through our work, we achieved an excellent rating at contest, said Joanna Shorpshire, the choir president. Mrs. Marshall really is proud of the all the choirs that she stages. I enjoy working with young people and performing groups, said Mrs. Marshall. Even though practices are long and hard, almost everyone enjoys the satisfaction of the final performance. I feel that choir is important because it gives us an opportunity to meet new people and to perform in front of audiences, said Becky Plant, a member of the choir. PEP SPIRIT . KT £ PRIDE From selling balloons to singing the fight song, the junior boosters gave it their all. They always added lots of pep, plenty of spirit, and tons of pride to game days at South High School. We ' ve got spirit; yes, we do. We ' ve got spirit; how ' bout you? was the familiar challenge of the junior boosters to the senior boosters right down the hall. Even when the seniors were beating them (again) in their annual basketball game, the juniors still came on strong with their booster spirit. President Becky Plant, Vice- President Bud Mongold, Secretary Cindy Schwartz, and Treasurer Vinita Wallace led the boosters in promoting school spirit.
