LET ' S HAVE A GOOD DAY Sometimes the walls trembled from the wrecking ball; sometimes there were no windows in the middle of winter; sometimes there were no classrooms in which to tea ch . . . and yet, there was always a laughing voice that started each day with a friendly coaxing, Let ' s have a good day! For four years Mr. John- B. Wright, principal of South High School, kept his faculty and student body looking toward the future in spite of the major renovation going on in the building. Few individuals could have maintained a sense of humor and an atmosphere of learning while trying to cooperate with Central Office and the Board of Education, negotiate with construction personnel, and maintain an orderly school when some staff member or student was always unhappy. For this reason, among others, we, the 1981 WILDCAT staff, proudly dedicate this yearbook to Mr. John B. Wright. He has always been a dedicated principal and while he demonstrated his concern for his school, he still remained a friend of all who worked or learned within the halls of South. PORTRAITS M7
