Time is a precious element. When it is here, we can never jind enough, and when it is past, it becomes the basis fir all future expectations. Everywhere we go, we are reminded that each moment, each hour, and each day are swihly passing. andyet . . . there is a timeforso many things in aschool year. The South High student has found that school is a timefor searching, for asking questions and formulating ideas. Life has a serious side, and with the acceptance of responsibility. Colonels acknowledged theirpotential asfuture leaders. There is also a time-forfun and gaiety in a school year. Rewarded by victory and screams, Southern Colonels spent long hours in hard practice at sports, and there was laughter on the-,fm-S of those who joined in the Homecoming festivi- ties, or started new traditions like spirit week. Partners were seen dancing cheek-to-cheek at the Plantation Ball, but the happiness wasjust as unmistakable in the The Boyfriend cast after receiving a standing ovation. The South High student experienced many rich and varied emotions, climaxed upon receiving his high school diploma, the symbol of his accomplishments. Time has always been the vehicle for growth and change, and while we holdfast to each minute before relinquishing it to the past, we wait in eager anticipation for the next moment to come. Because each student of South High has given un- failingly of his time, this school year of 1967-68 belongs to him. That time of so many things has created an experi- ence that has become an integral part and guidingforce ofthe students' lyfe. 3
