Established honor club for interested students A new educational opportunity for students this year was an honor mathematics club which was sponsored by Mr. Richard Feeney. This club was intended to be a group in which problems were dis- cussed that were not mentioned in the classroom. Also, students were able to present mathematical problems in which they were interested. A new teacher in the mathematics department this year was Mrs. Patricia Bennion. During the summer, Mr. Wallace Blackwood attended Kansas State University, and Mr. Richard Feeney attended the University of Oklahoma, both taking advantage of study grants awarded to them. The mathematics department continued to develop its modern method of teaching, which involved challenging the students to find the answers to their own questions.
