Two ofthese were replacements, the third, an addition to the staff. Mrs. Doris Smith, teacher of the Braille Resource Program, provided a class in which students learned to read and write braille. South, the only Wichita high school to have this program, has a library of over 350 braille books. Mrs. Robert Crow experi- mented with a developmental reading program us- ing a new reading machine and other materials to upgrade the reading rate, comprehension, and vo- cabulary of the students in the program.
