Set example for city in IBM procedures Answering telephones and Hling attendance re- cords occupied valuable time, but they were not the only responsibilities of an efhcient office staff. With the city-wide conversion to IBM processing, meth- ods developed by the staff for procedures of enroll- ment and attendance were adapted for use in all city schools. Participation in an exchange of two office practice students with West High School initiated a new program of cooperation between the schools. Although there were no personnel additions in the office, a modern Apeco copying machine greatly simplified duplicating techniques for books and papers. operator.
