When Aunt Donna Lucia D’Alvadorez (Dorothy Forinash) did not show up to chaperone the luncheon date. Lord Fancourt Babber-ley (Rod Carr) was forced to oblige in long dress and wig. Stephen Spettigue (James Lew), Amy’s uncle, and Sir Francis Chesney (Tom Snow), Jack’s father, proposed to the rich widowed Aunt, not knowing that beneath the dainty frills was Lord Babberley. (iuests included Quillery, a French Communist who was executed by Italian Fascists; Irene, a counterfeit Russian Countess; and Harry, song and dance man from Nebraska. Harry recognized Irene to he a former sweetheart and found himself in love with her once again. When a false passport forced her to stay while the others were evacuated, Harry decided to face death and remain with her.
