On the eve before the Homecoming game, the queen and her attendants were selected. All the contestants were filled with excitement and joy as the Masters of Ceremony, Tony Sparico and lim Maszle announced the winners: Homecoming Queen - Iudy Mitro, Iunior Attendant - Doreen Clifford, and Sophomore Attendant - Karen Kra- vetz. Our queen and her court were presented at the halftime of the game in their beautifully deco- rated cars. Our congratulations and thanks to those who helped to make this event possible. Color Guard in their usual position. .il . t' f 1 Seniors decorate!! Santa Claus comes early! Another successful week spent at Ind. Univ. last summer has passedg but the memories have remained for all who went. On the morning of Aug. 19, the buses were loaded up. When the sleepy students finally got settled in their rooms, most of the day was gone. Most of our time was dedicated to practice, but we managed to find time to swim, walk to the Co-Op or just watch T.V. in the lobby. Initiation is always a big event at camp. This year the new members were married, ran pea- nut races, and the color guard sang at lunch. For many of us it was our last year and we'll never forget the times we spent there, but for the rest, they're looking forward to another year of Band Camp! 14 8: ii CQ! this door! A TOCA! TOCA! This year's Prom was one of the biggest in the history of South's Proms with 105 couples attending. The Post Prom at the Sheraton Inn South Hills Village added to the night with entertainment by Spec- trum and a hypnotist. Thanks to the hard work of Mr. Trosch and the Ir. Exec. Dr. Cirman - superintendent, Mr. Helterhran - principal, and Mr. Findlay - President of the School Board gave speeches honoring the sen- iors. Iackie Stein, our Valedicto- rian, gave a speech on Adjusting the Foundation and Ianice McGowan, our Salntatorian gave a speech on The Foundation. Once again the band pre- pared for the upcoming football season with a hard weeks practice at Indiana University. The money raised by the group was used for a Ban- quet, Senior Event, and Trips to Festivals. The bands future plans for next year is to take a trip to a marching band festival.
