It wos o rime for putting off rhor poper. raising on the phone, ignoring teachers ond being wid The Snow Doze Olympics were very intense this year People were fonoticdl obour winning. As o result, many arguments ensued, slowing down the gomes The seniors come out of the woodwork this year. Unfortunately, they dominated in quonriry, nor quality. They hod 16 reoms to the freshmen's 3. In the end, the jmor Rodshes were the volleyball victors ond the Sophomore Dononas won the floor hockey tournament. Friday wos the grand finale with both the carnival ond dance The Freshmen supnsed us all by winang the rug-o-wor This yeor's mini donut mochine hod o great deal of trouble dur Ing the Carnival; so dd Steve Honey's face os it wos bom barded with oozing sponges The Carnival os o whole, how ever, ran smoothly ond was o big success. On Februory 23rd. two auditoriums were held They featured speakers Mrs Hod.e B Hwndrieth Smith, former ele menrory school principle, ond Mrs Ut-an Worren Lazenbrg. president of LAon and Assoo ares. Consulranrs Comissioner for Mpfe Public Urines 1978 1984 They also featured rhe South High Concert Choir with guest director Mr Sam Dave The negro notional anthem Lift Every Voice ond Sng was sung by Della Wilkins and W Owens, co-chairs for Block Ffcyory month A number of owords were presented durng rhe program Certificates of honor for Supen or Acheivement ond Excel lence of Performance were preserved by Mr Comorn, d rector fo the Educational Division fo rhe Mpis.
