,wi Music Man Comes To Outh High This years 1978-79 Fall Musical, Music Man , was a great success. Over 1600 people were in attendance during the four even- ing performances on Dec. 6,7,8,9. As in the past, there was a matinee for the local Jr. Highs, and a series of previews for the English classes. Music Man is the story of a traveling salesmanfconman called f Prof. Harold Hill. He tries to persuade a small Iowa town that they desperately need a boys band, to keep the boys occupied with something benefitial instead of playing pool. While trying to do this he falls in love with Marion Paroo, the town librarian. He then realizes that what he was doing was wrong. 'Q This year was unique in the fact that it involved past alumni whose interests lie in the theater. The cast of 42 and crew of 20 was once again directed by Terry Hanson. Music Man was one of the biggest productions put on by South High in many years.
