Music Programs Popular With South Students Under the direction of John Kantar and Terry Hanson, the bands and choirs offered a variety of musical performances throughout the year. These included everything from concerts at school and churches to the pep band playing at sports events. Concert Choir, Mixed Choir and Concert Band were just some of the different groups in which the student body could participate. The South Singers performing at the new Government Center and the Jazz Band per- forming with a Jazz Ensemble at the University, were just two of the highlights of this year. The spring musical was South Pacific. Terry Hanson directed the acting and vocal portions, while John Kantar directed the pit orchestra. The Music Department traveled to Chicago for their annual performing tour, and ended their year on a good note! 1. South Singers perform at Homecoming Coronation program. 2.
