Winterim '76 Successful Winterim was held February 11th during Sno-week to provide students a much needed break in the normal routine and to get people together for a fun time. Students had the choice of remaining at South or going out on one of the many excursions away from the school. Some of the choices were skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, rollerskating, ice fishing, bowling, stick hockey, ping pong, movies, and open gym. All in all, the day was regarded as successful by the 600 student participants. 1. Mike Fong tries for a spare at Stardust Lanes. 2. Kim Wallace and Dawn Peterson have fun sno-tubing near Somerset, Wisconsin. 3. Patti Ryti and Ed Alvarez team up to play doubles table tennis at South. 4. Sadie A South Tradition As the busses unloaded, 83 couples stepped out and began their Sadie Hawkins night with a tour of Malkerson's Ranch, a change from past years. When they arrived at the door, they were greeted by the chaperones, who checked tickets and hustled everyone into the unheated barn. While the couples waited for the caller, they ate, flashed pictures, got married , and did a lot of talking. What's he talking about? was the reaction during the first 20 minutes after the caller arrived. As the confusion ended, and couples began to catch on, the barn was fil-led with clapping, hollering and foot stomping. Despite complications, the Senior Class, once more , made an exciting evening out of the traditional Sadie Hawkins! L Cindy Llndgren and Mike Timmer pose for their Wedding pictures. 2. Vickie Sorbcl and Kim Wallace promenade around Rick Goodsell, Steve Hines and John Schneider. 3. George Liss, Sue Dischinger, Mike Holmes, Tammy Martineau, Tim Helinski and Shirley Rogers socialize during a break. 4. Mary Chairpairini swings with her partner. 18— SADIE HAWKINS

Sno-Daze Lacks Snow — Not Spirit! The coronation Monday night, February 9th, of Nancy Johnson and Steve Moe started off an event filled Sno-Daze week. Queen Nancy and King Steve, with the rest of the Royalty, reigned over a victorious hockey game against Rosemount, and watched with South, as the Tigers dribbled past Henry and Roosevelt, outscor-ing them both. Many activities were planned for the week, but because of the unseasonal high 40's temperatures, which melted the snow, most had to be cancelled. The biggest event of the week took place on Wednesday, with well over half of the school participating in Wintrim activities. Sno-tubing, bowling, ice fishing, movies, skiing, and roller skating were some of the activities enjoyed by students and faculty alike. The snowless Sno-Daze week melted into memories as a very successful Sno-Daze dance, featuring Upton, drew to a close Friday night SNO-DAZE ROYALTY: Rick Goodsell and Dottie Taplin, Junior attendants, Gary Benjamin, Alice Berg, Randy Denardo, Charisse Jones, Nancy Johnson, Queen, Steve Moe, King, Renee Salas, Wally Nelson, Chris Hall, Jeff Flavin, Elaine Jensen and John Gonzalez, Sophomore attendants. -Sno-Daze
