In our tradition of BE SOUTH, every South High student has a multitude of memories to treasure. When we moved from the Old South to our New South, we brought with us those treasured and cherished memories: our school spirit, friendships, loyalties to classmates and South High. Today, we have a new school building which abounds with so many new sources for learning, new equipment for our use. So evident to us and to all our visitors arc these highlights in our New South: a fantastic auditorium, an excellent gym, large resource centers, our beautiful library, the specialized shops, and carpeted floors. To increase a spirit of awareness, we must appreciate what we have, use it in the best ways possible and preserve it for future students. Hopefully, in our New South we arc building a new background for much more to be remembered. Yes. we have a new building, a New South, which can be enriched by yesterday’s famed loyalty and school spirit. ’71 Tiger Staff TABLE OF CONTENTS ACTIVITIES 5 ORGANIZATIONS 23 SPORTS 43 STUDENT LIFE 67 FACULTY 75 UNDERCLASSMEN 87 SENIORS 105
