This year's Homecoming was a very active one. During the week we had Button Day — everyone wore as many buttons as he could — Grub Day, Dress-Up Day, and Orange and Black Day. Our slogan this year. Turn the Millers to Flour With Tiger Power, was submitted by one of our more witty Juniors. The program that was presented on Friday was a takeoff on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour, with Joe Kreuger as Host. After viewing some ot the finest talent here at South, the moment we were all anxiously awaiting was upon us: the coronation of Queen Sue Whipkey and King John Hardeman. We released our tension after the coronation by yelling at the pep-fest that followed and then marching to the field for the game. Although we lost to Washburn, our dedicated players tried their hardest to Be South. Soon after the dance that evening, with music by the Sir Raleighs, Homecoming became just another one of our fond memories. Bev Lccgard Sue Whipkey nonchalantly accepts position of Homecoming Queen!
