This year we have witnessed many new experiences, and many changes. The construction on the new South High School has tinally begun. Our new football field has been used for several conference games. We have been challenged and confronted with the importance of sensi- tivity through our Race Relations classes. While we were in our second year of modular scheduling here at South, changes also were made throughout the world. The Paris Peace Talks finally brought hopes of solving the Vietnam crisis. The United States' moon shot put us ahead in the space race. The Presidential election result- ed in a new administration-that of President Richard M. Nixon. Tomorrow's world needs people who pride themselves, not in what they have done, nor in what they can do, but more important, what they will do. With this in mind, we would like to dedicate this, THE l969 TIGER, to the graduating class and to what they will do. Our Principal Mr. Shawbold South High School students have implimented many innovations this past number of years. This class has just completed the second year on modular flexible scheduling. All of you were involved in the dedication of our new football field which is the most elaborate in the city of Minneapolis. Also you were involved and participated in the ground breaking ceremonies of our new school, the first new senior high school constructed in Minneapolis in over 30 years. All of you are to be congratulated and I am proud to have had the op- portunity of being associated with you the past number of years. To all of you, I wish success and happiness in the coming years.
