Y -- Q .Z f fi if 5 t Q 7. l L ' fn ,M , 6 k'lfFr l Mtn, Imagine the evening a a crystal clear night, a full shimmering moon, the snow glistening like jewels on the ground, two people together, and Fire and Ice a the excitement of getting acquainted. On February 15, Blu-Tri sponsored the annual Sweetheart Swirl as the final event ofthe 1969 Sno- Daze. The real purpse of Fire and Ice was to get to know each other better, by sharing the experi- ence of a beautiful evening together. This year's Fire and Ice Sweetheart candidates were Peggy Peterson, Jackie Moren, Sandy Ferris, Janet Dischinger and Marilyn Carlson. Mrs. Un- derwood, Blu-Tri advisor, was given the honor of crowning the Sweetheart of 1969 a Janet Dischinger. After an evening of dancing to the Charlie Wil- liams' band, the couples dined at many of the fa- mous nite spots of our town. When the evening was finally over, for many in the misty gray hour of dawn, all that was left were memories . . . and they last a lifetime. -Jilfif , 5 i

As a result. three Tigers were placed on the coaches' All District l7 team: Tim Griee guard: Sheldon Anderson ff- forward: and Keith Hardeman center, ln the lirst game ofthe regional playoffs, the South High Tigers defeated Bloomington-Lincoln Q62- 60l in a carefully maneuvered. perfectly timed. 3 minute overtime. As coach Mona said: When we took the time out with 30 seconds remaining in the overtime. we agreed that the man who had the best shot would take it. And it vsorked out to be Shel. Following the game with Lincoln. the Tigers took the Region 5 championship over Albany with a 7l to 61 win, Tim. Shel. and Keith also made the Re- gion i team. .
