The roar of the crowd, the passing of the ball and the battering of hockey sticks-these will never escape my memory To South I have given my heart and soul; to the Tiger I have given life. South has bestowed upon me the honor of representing my school as mascot a joy that can never be replaced This honor I will cherish forever. Jan-

CHEERLEADERS Smiling, clapping and jumping for joy-this describes our cheerleaders. This year South’s school spirit was unbeatable, thanks to the enthusiasm of our cheerleaders. The ram didn't stop them: they were at every football game. The cold didn’t stpp them they never missed a hocky game. Friday nights didn’t stop them they appeared at all basketball games. This years' squad went beyond the call of duty to promote school spirit Skits, pep fests. and signs-all suceeded in giving South new life Let’s thank our cheerleaders for a year of loyalty and faithfulness. Practice in the years to come, their motto and our motto-BE SOUTH! TIGERETTES Proudly clad in South's school colors, our Tigerettes danced at not only pepfests but also at football and basketball games. However. dancing was not their only talent they were expert carwashers. By the way. the Tigerettes acquired their unusual carwashing talent while earning money to pay for new uniforms. Since practice brings perfection our Tigerettes practiced 3 days a week during the summer of '66 and once a week during the school year Miss Virginia Nelson the advisor helped the girls choreography their dance routines. Becky Hardeman was their captain. 22
