The boa constrictor shown at the left with part of Miss Bruce's second hour biology class, came to this country on a boat load of bananas and wound up in a glass house in room 10. The students force-fed him on angle worms and the boa was particularly fond of being handled as he always responded to such treatment with activity. Unfortunately during the Christmas vacation, when the room temperature was very low, he died, for the constrictor needs a warm temperature in which to survive.
