Everyone makes mistakes: no one is perfect. Only through mutual understanding and co-operation of both students and faculty can we ever hope to achieve a high standard of education and produce better citizens of this world. To accomplish this is the aim of the faculty of South High School. Mr. Olsen is a familiar sight to those students committing misdemeanors. Acting as a referee, he sees that no friction arises between the students and faculty. Hey Kids! Know the Deans? Who are they? Why Miss Robinson and Mr. Osterhus, of course. For example, do you need a job? See the deans. They will write a reference and do everything they can to help you get a job. Dealing with the more personal problems of the students and their families we find Miss Wahlgren, South High's visiting teacher. 9

ADMINISTRATION Modern education presents many problems other than academic. In our present educational program, the principal must take an active part in all activities in order to understand and help solve present problems in a modern high school. Our principal, Mr. Maass. takes an active interest in school functions. Whenever possible he attends athletic, music, and other school events in order to do this. OFFICE STAFF I. Guthormso, M. Anderson, E. Smith, A. Syverson. One of the most co-operative and smoothly run units in the building is the office. By working with the clerks, students gain initiative and vital office experience. 8
