Assistant Principal Howard R . Sorensen, pictured at the right, keeps busy at his numerous duties. Among his many titles are Director of Athletics and Chairman of Student Activities. He also heads the guidance services of the school and is in charge of attendance. Fragile plants that gather strength We guess at where, and how, and when- High School Graduates become at length The flower of lite, the hope of men. ku fi 'sdi ' Gi' ZZ? acmaefafza More than anyother South faculty members, the counselors deal directly with the future. They workwith the students of their respective classes to plan a curricular program which will insure scholastic growth, meet their needs while they are in school, and prepare them for whatever course seems most advisable after graduation. In addition they aid their counselees in solving personal problems and show them the ad- visability of continuing their schooling and attending classes regularly. Junior and senior counselors also assist their charges in obtaining part-timeand post- graduation iobs and in securing information on colleges and scholarships. Miss Mary Louise Beck and Mr. Charles B. Drake, senior counselors, were snapped as they discussed the planned program of one of their l2B students. X. 14,
