Alice E. Goddard Helen L. Mitchell Pat Lundberg Marjean B. Moore Mabel I. Duming Edna K. Pay We Want To PLEASE We Want to pleasef' is the motto of the able workers at South dedicated to serving others. Each one of the staffs is important in producing an efficient, smooth-running school. The silence of the classroom was broken by the cry of a student in the back of the room. He was frantically searching for a pen with ink in it. An- other voice was heard across the room. It was a girl trying to borrow a piece of paper. This could have been avoided by a simple trip to the book- store of the school. Our bookstore is a Well- equipped, Well-managed one Where any needed materials may be found. It has often been stated, He who controls the power of the purse controls the nationf, This can be applied to a school when made to read, She who controls the power of the purse helps to make a school the able-functioning organization it should bef, Our treasurer fulfills this position and does help keep South on topf' Have you ever noticed the special shine on the floors of school when you return on Monday morning? Have you ever considered the work that goes into the lunch you enjoy from the cafe- teria? These are some of the many duties fulfilled by the custodians and cafeteria Workers who so diligently and cheerfully accomplish the tasks that their positions require. Could I have an outside line please? This ques- tion is asked on the phones of the school office every day. The office staff efficiently takes care of the school. They also provide us with the bul- letin, a daily reminder of school activities. Our office staff certainly deserves a great deal of credit for the long hours of time and energy they exert for our South High.
