The physical education departments are trying to develop strong and physically vibrant individuals through teaching the basic skills of sports. This can sometimes be diiiicult. Waking up the next morning with aching backs and legs, We all wonder how it is possible to have enjoyed ourselves so much and yet suffer so greatly. Phys. Ed. classes give us the chance to become profi- cient in many sports. If this technique could be used for basketball we would i certainly win the tournament l l

NOW YUU KNOW Getting to know and understand yourself is a part of growing up. Does bowlegged- ness come from walking at too young an age? Are communicable diseases danger- ous? Homemakers of tomorrow? lg-Q Zelda H. Cerstner Edythe johnson Lela R. Smith PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE Not everything comes naturally in being a homemaker. Changing a diaper is an artg fixing a formula takes careful calculationsg and preparing meals for a husband requires initiative or the knowledge of a can opener. It takes time and patience for girls to learn the fundamentals of homemak- ing and the skills which they must acquire to become an efficient home- maker. A girl should be prepared to run a household smoothly and to keep her family under control. Using good judgment and clear thinking are also a part of this learning process. From the homemaking classes emerge the cooks, the seamstresses, and the hostesses of tomorrow. 21
