Homecoming week at South, October 27-Novem-ber 1, was celebrated by a week o: spirit filled with such days as Tacky Day, Twin Day, Dress-Up Day, and School Colors Day. Also a Car Decorating contest and Homeroom Door Decorating contest was held. The winner of each received a prize. Besides the dress codes and contests, there was the impatient wait for the election of Homecoming Queen and King at the end of the week. The King and Queen were crowned at our annual Pep Rally which was held in the gymnasium The Pep Rally succeeded in elevating the excitement for the Homecoming Game that night—which we won!—against John Marshall High School. Our victory added to the excitement over the Homecoming Dance which was held the following evening at South High School. All in all, the entire Homecoming event got our year off to a great start.
