THE1soHA1AyyNy 19304 This statue was erected on XY. Market St. to perpetuate the memory of the trail used by the Indians in making the hbig portage from the waters of the north to those of the south. In the life of the Redmen, Portage Path was as important a factor as are the railroads in our life today. Now only a statue, erected by the white men, remains to mark the trail over which so many Indians have passed and re-passed. page thirteen
