Having established himself as an esteemed leader, Mr. Reed has made many friends among pupils, teach- ers, and parents. n The Board of Education bears a large share of the responsibility for the com-- petent supervision of the educational system in Lima. Among its many duties are prescrib- ing courses of instruction, selecting teach- ers, and putting into operation legisla- tion that will protect the health and safety of students. With Dr. A. N. Wiseley as president, and Mr. A. M. Gantz as clerk, this group of men is given much due credit for the efficient operation of the Lima Public Schools. As Director of Maintenance. Mr. Harry G. Mason keeps our schools healthful and in good condition by directing repairs when needed. A. M. Ciantz W. C. Derbyshire A, N. Wiscley Frank Smith H. G. Mason T. The annual this year was in charge of the co-editors Dwight Nicolet, Betty Martin. Marilyn Miller. and Eleanor Kimble. Robert Lesher, senior, and Miss Esther Gillette, girls' physical edu- cation director, took all of the pictures except those of the faculty and seniors. The staff wishes to extend its appreciation to them for the many difficult tasks which they accomplished. Carol Gross and Donna Pearson were the capable typists for the book. The staff members are grateful to John Loukos, senior art student, for art contributions, and to Iris Bailey for arranging appointments for senior and faculty pictures. Each worker on the staff enjoyed the new experiences he found in his work. The staff hopes that its aim in trying to edit a year book which would mirror the activities of South High has been accomplished. The staff is sincerely grateful to Miss May Benroth, faculty advisor, for her skillful guidance and advice throughout the year. Row one: E. Kimble, R. Lesher, J. Loukos, D. Nieolet. B. This group included Carol Gross, Jean Fralick, Virgil Reese, Evelyn Shockey, Anita Thomas, Vera Tomlinson, Herbert Ferguson, Donald Roberts, and Arthur lhm. This play is a delightful story of the Hartmans, an average American family, who enjoy peace and quietness until spring arrives-and with it comes Midge. The youngest of the Hartman children, she believes herself to be deeply in love with handsome Buzz Lindsay, who is infatu- ated with Virginia. Midge's sister. The efforts of Midge to capture Buzz's fancy, and the results provide a humorous timefor all. Proceeds from the play were used to purchase a senior memorial for the school.
