XTX t '..eeTi . :r l Q O Njlllll' X0 History of Class of '25 The beginning of the school term of 1921 witnessed the advent of a very promising group of students into the domain of South High. Even as Freshmen, they began their upward climb to Seniorhood with meritorious effort. Evelyn Winegardner proved capable of bearing the responsibilities of leadership. Progress was rapid. The girls' enthusiasm in basketball foretold of future honors. Remark- able ability was displayed in The Gypsy Rover and Strongheart. Throughout the term the pep of this body was unexcelled. The reins of government in '22 were placed in the skilled hands of Mark Lutman. Then as Sophomoies the Class' of '25 continued its illustrious career. Their partici- pation and success in athletics was noteworthy. Representation in dramatics, music, and clubs showed the ability and spirit of a group of determined students. On re-entering S. H. The championship of the Soccer Tournament went to the girls of the class. ln the Garden of the Shah and Daddy Long Legs were the achievements of the '25ers in theatricals. The Junior-Senior Prom turned out to be the biggest social function of the year. Then the long-waited day arrived! In September, 1924, the Seniors began their final season in their beloved South. The untiring efforts of Myrtle Slade, the chief executive, brought the class into' the very center of the limelight. The motto these people adopted when Freshmen was greatly emphasized, Do it for South - a noble maxim worthy of emphasis to be sure! The responsibility of putting across a lyceum course was placed on the Seniors of '25 by lVIr. Graham, principal. With the aid of Miss Conrath, the selected program was an assured success. Another institution established was Senior Hobo Day. The droll costuming will evidently remain in the memories of many for a long time. To the Seniors of this year is also due much credit for inaugurating the Hrst Home-Coming Day at South. Despite the fact they don't' allow it anymore at Kissing Hollow, several out- door parties were held. The Professor's Love Story, a Barrie Comedy, was presented by the talented ones of the classyin the new auditorium. The appearing of the Rainbow weekly instead of bi-monthly was likewise hailed with delight. The climax of social function was the Junior Prom. Everyone assured the Juniors no other event' had been planned and carried out with so much genuine entertain- ment in it, as that last farwell reception for the class of '25. ' Senior Day and the bestowing of the memorial was greeted with both tears and joy. Finally, the day of granting diplomas dawned!
