From the Principal ' s Office Mrs. Elsie Ellsworth Self-actualization is important if we are to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. Lasting relationships with those around us are vital factors in achieving that goal. I feel that the message printed below reflects the spirit and intent of the 1974 OLYMPIAD. J. Rotcher Principal It ' s as old as man himself, yet as new as this moment or the next. It ' s overchanging and somehow ever constant. It ' s stronger than any wall ever built. It overcomes politics and national barriers. It can ' t be blinded by strange customs or blocked by foreign languages. It has been written about and analyzed by wise men, Yet it has never been defined, and never will be. You can ' t see it or touch it, yet it is everywhere. It survives weakness and neglect, thrives on thoughtfulness. Its possibilities are infinite, its strengths limitless. It ' s what makes man human, what makes life worth living. It ' s friendship.
