THE FIRST SEMESTER STUDENT COUNCIL, under the leadership of President Jim Haw- kins sponsored many activities and paved the way for the spring-semester officers. Some of the activities carried out were: the ASB. card sale with over I,OOO cards soldg the Third Annual Howdy Hop and after game dances, participation in Pioneer League Forum meetings and Junior Citizens Day, planning of the Grid Queen activities and final formation of the Service Clulosg purchasing of a punch bowl and long awaited band uniformsg and many aud' calls and pep rallies. The Student Council ended a successful term with the Second Annual Junior Administra- tion Day when they loecame South I-ligh Ad- ministrators for a day.

STUDENT COUNCIL, a representative cross sec- tion ot the student body, might be likened to oi master stage hand directing the spotlight on all school activities. This semester, rules and regulations governing publicity were adopted and procedures tor present and future campus organizations were established. Another major item, the purchase ot choir robes, completed the outtitting ot campus groups. The Townsmen, oi folk song group, presented an aud-call tor the entire student body. In Moy the last Pioneer League Forum was held here at South. Evaluation ot the i959-i960 school year and problems facing next year's League were discussed. A meeting ot next year's Bay League Schools was held. Incoming schools, including South High, were given an orientation on Bay League rules cmd regulations. fm?
