Joe completed his third year on the Varsity along with taking such honors as top scorer in the league with 50 points, and being placed on the All-League second team. TAKING ADVANTAGE of a break in the Tor- rance-South rivalry are the offensive linernen, Mike Czarske l76I, Mike Robbins, Ted Um- bour lo5I, Dennis Higgins, and Cliff Roy. This was the first intra-city football game played in the history of Torrance. The spirited Spartans went on to win Q7-I4 in a hard fought and well earned victary,

Two outstanding additions to this year's sq-uad were Freshmen Phil Fish and Tim Roettger, Both led the squad to the second place position in the Pioneer League. Ken and Jeff, two year veterans, are now com- pleting their third year on the Bee squad. The Spar- tans sutfered their only loss of the season against the Falcons by a 14-6 score. 1 ...ss 2, DAN APPEL carries the ball for another one of his spectacular runs. The Spartans went on to win this one 15-O in a non-league contest with Rancho Alimitos.
