The ball carrier is breaking away from Spartan Glen Aycock I66l while Roger Smith ISII looks on. Roger was placed on the All-League first team and Cliff was placed on the honorable mention list, -A. wr V W, .,,,,, JOE AUSTIN goes high for one of his spectacular catches. Joe completed his third year on the Varsity along with taking such honors as top scorer in the league with 50 points, and being placed on the All-League second team. TAKING ADVANTAGE of a break in the Tor- rance-South rivalry are the offensive linernen, Mike Czarske l76I, Mike Robbins, Ted Um- bour lo5I, Dennis Higgins, and Cliff Roy. This was the first intra-city football game played in the history of Torrance. The spirited Spartans went on to win Q7-I4 in a hard fought and well earned victary,

Row III: Phil Fish, Mike Moore, Jim Voltman, Rick Despain, Tom Standley, Ron Rollins. THE BEE TEAM under the leadership of Coach Hanny compiled a six win one loss seasonal record. Two outstanding additions to this year's sq-uad were Freshmen Phil Fish and Tim Roettger, Both led the squad to the second place position in the Pioneer League. El Segundo ,. .. 12 mf AN UNIDENTIFIED SPARTAN is shown making Q tackle on a return punt during a Spartan- Tartar game. The game ended in a 6-6 tie, but Torrance went on to win the championship. 130 R 66 5 ' Y .3 s KEN MOTOYASU AND JEFF NAKATA, both de- fensive linebackers, are ready to see some action in the Aviation game. Ken and Jeff, two year veterans, are now com- pleting their third year on the Bee squad. The Spar- tans sutfered their only loss of the season against the Falcons by a 14-6 score. 1 ...ss 2, DAN APPEL carries the ball for another one of his spectacular runs. The Spartans went on to win this one 15-O in a non-league contest with Rancho Alimitos.
