This year's team, coached by Mr. Harvel Pollard, has a 5-l record at press time and iust starting in league competition is boosted by hitters like Ray Rooney, Richard Limi, and Dale Gieg. This is the only squad that has played against teams in the big league before South was a four year plant, but they have done well each year. W , . . Drue Washington was voted the most outstanding wrestler of the season. Washington went through the Central Section, C.l.F. meets undefeated, which sent him to the state meet at Sacramento where he placed Sth. Teammates Allan Adams placed second and Jim Heckman placed fourth in their respective classes in the Central Section meet. Earl Corley, team captain, .and Manual Villarreal, the most improved wrestler this year, were both great inspirations to their teammates. Corley and Villarreal won the championship in their respective weight divisions. The team won ll and tied one meet. Wfzes ' v-Ar' -- .1 fix ' f.'7 + After handing out the trophies to his matmen, Mr. Bruce Pfutzenreuter was quite surprised by the trophy he received from Mr. Hank Moroski.
