In '53 our South High baseball team were runners up in the City Baseball League with an eight win, four loss season. This year's team was headed by Benny Wright, lst base, john Frank, 2nd base, Dan Holtz, 8rd base, Bill Green short- stop, Pete Smerles, leftlieldg jerry Dover, centerfieldg John Otto, rightfieldg Kenny Webb, catch, Bill Wardle, pitch and catcher, Frank Howard, pitch and leftfield.
