Midyear Class Prophecy january 27, 1973 Admiral Charles Brandum 'ji U.S.S. South Dear GCHARLIEU: It surely has been a long time since '4l953',-twenty years. We were reminiscing about the old gang and thought of writing to you. Many exciting things have happened to us since we last saw you. VVe went to New York on our vacation and had a really eventful time. We took a plane from the HOLBROOK AIRLINES and were treated with great luxuriousness by the hostesses, DOROTHY DAVIS, ODESSA MILNER, and PHYLLIS TROUT. We ran into a little bad weather, but the pilots BOB SCHWAB and JOEL ROBISON really knew what they were do- ing and we arrived safely. The cab driver, GENE BECHTEL, was very kind and took us to a beautiful and widely advertised hotel owned by ADAM HIGH, HARRY DORR, and BILL BACK. They were very glad to accommodate us free of charge, which was greatly appreciated. They informed us of a good place to eat, SINACOLA,S SPAGHETTI HOUSE, owned by LORETTA SINACOLA. We were shown to our table by the -head waiter DONN WATSON and served very courteou-sly by the waitresses, EVELYN FOX, BETTY HEFFLEY, and BARBARA THALL. The cigarette girl, PATTI KIRBY, was also very kind. We decided to see a stage show that night, so we went to see the NCOHEN FOLLIES' backed by ED COHEN. SHIRLEY VEST, PAT WILLIAMS, BETTY TROTT, SHEILA MEL- MAN, and LUCILLE MEINEN really made a terrific chorus line. It is no wonder the show was such a success with RAY NVOOD directing it. As we were leaving the theater, we saw many prosperous business men and accomplished artists. WVe saw MERRILL CALVIN, presi- dent of CALVIN'S LINGERIE INC.,', the two very famous dentists for making false teeth, LARRY BORROR and CHUCK RUNDIO, and WILMA EVANS, the first woman president of the i'Violinist Union. The next day we went -shopping and stopped in an exclusive dress shop owned by LENORE COOPER. DOROTHY VANCE, BETTY REO, and BONNIE WENTZEL were models there. We were surprised to see CYRIL ZISENWINE, now a P.O.D. teacher, also there shopping. She told us that KENNY LININGER was sports editor of the local paper and doing very well. Speaking of sports, I suppose you know that DON WIRTZ is playing professional football for the Cleveland Browns. By the end of the day we were really tired, so we went back to the hotel. The hotel operator. ROSIE COOK, was very kind and took all our messages so we would not be bothered. Relaxing to the soothing music of the Rhythm Boysv -- composed of GEORGE DEMME, KEITH BOTLEY, HAROLD TRAGER, and OLLIE CORDLE - we ended that day with slumber. We spent the next day -sightseeing. While walking around, we noticed HELEN PAPPAS finally got her name in lights. We also saw a poster announcing IIM POTTS as the winner of the midget auto races. We are sure his manager, IO ANN SHARTZ, had a lot to do with it. This was the last day of our vacation, but we really felt good seeing how successful all of our former classmates have become. Klise S. King June Class Advisers and ffieers Miss Lydia Meyer Verne C. Smith Miss Lucy Amborski Assuming the leadership of the June Class of 1953 was Tom Passen. Tom was president of student council and chief justice of student court. He was a member of the City Championship Basketball Team. Assisting Tom with his duties was Sherrie Phillips as vice president. Sher- rie Was the smallest varsity cheerleader, and reigned as the 1952 Homecoming Queen. Judy Arthur, secretary, kept the book- work of the class up-to-date. Judy was a member of the 1952 Homecoming Court. The man with all the money who courageously collected it from the seniors was Kenny Clark. Kenny was vice-president of student council and thc prosecuting attorney of student court.
