Her height has proved to be one ot the most valuable assets of the girls' basketball team in '36 and '37. As a sophomore she was secre- tary of the Student Council. She has been a mem- ber of the French XVork Shop, '36, and ot the Senior Dramatic Club, '37. RUBY CHAMBERS As a junior Ruby was a member ot the glee club, mixed chorus, and participated in the operetta, The Mikado. She has also been a member ol' the Home Economics Club, '35, the French Workshop, '36, and the Senior Dramatic Club, '37. She played baseball, '36, '37, hockey, '37, and took part in tihe gym exhibition, '35, '36, '37. She assisted in the library, '36. Hobbies--dancing, reading, and sports. CHARLOTTE CLARKE Charlotte has belonged to the junior-Senior Night Club, '36, Auto Club, '37, and llsher Club, '36, '37. NORMA COBB As a junior Norma was a member of the Travel Club and as a senior of the Knitting Club. She has played violin in the orchestra, '35, '36, '37. She has been substitute teacher for second grade '37. She also took part in the gym exhibition, '3S- '36, '37. Plans to study beauty culture next year. Hobbies- bicycling and raising cactus plants. Pet peeve- her nickname, Cobby. MARY ALICE COOK Vl'hile attending South Haven lligh School, Mary Alice has been a member of the glee club, '37, mixed chorus, '37, and has taken part in the operetta, joan of the Nancy Lee, '37. This year she also assisted in uhe library. As a junior she was a member ot the Travel Club and as a senior nt the Knitting Club. She plans to attend Allegan County Normal and then to teach kindergarten. ELLSWORTH CORRI.E Ellsworth ran the mile on thc track team during his junior and his senior years. He was also on the cross country team as a junior and was elected captain of this year's team but the sport was dis- continued this year. As a junior Ellsworth was a member ot the Chemistry Club. Most outstanding traits are his bashtulness and his deep bass voice. MARGARETE DAMGAARD Margarete has participated in the girls' gym ex- hibition, '35, '36, '37. She played on the senior girls' basketball team, '37. As a junior she was a member oi the Chemistry Club and as a senior of the Knitting Club. She also served as a substitute teacher for third grade, '37. She formerly attended Bangor High School. ls known bv all her lriends as Da. He is especially known tor championing the farmer in the arguments which take place in government class. He has been a member of the Current Events Club. '35. '36, '37. He has been a member ot the senior announcement commit- tee, '37. His hobby is working cross word punles. Plans to attend engineering school. TONY DEFAZIO Tony has been a member ot orchestra, '34, '35- '36, glee club, '36, '37g mixed chorus, '36, '37, and has been a member ol the chorus in 'l'he Mikado, '36 and joan ot the Nancy Lee, '37. As a junior he belon ed to the Future Farmers ot America and to the i'ocational Club. Athletically inclined he pla ed football, '34 and ran the quarter mile and daslics on thc track team. Greatest ambition-to have his own orchestra. JEAN DILLEY jean has been a member ol the glee club, '35, '36, '37g mixed chorus, '35, '36, '37, and has taken part in the operettas, HH. M. Pinatore, '35. As a junior she was a member oi the French VVorkshop and as a senior oi the Pup- pet Club. Nickname - Bev. Plans to take a course at either Allegan or Vl'estern State Teachers' College next year. Declares that she would like to teach a country school such as Glenn, where she learned the three R'S. RUTH DOTY Ruth has assisted in the library as a junior and as a senior, in the ottice. She has been a member of the Home Economics Club, '35, the Library Club, '36, and the Knitting Club, '37. She also played hockey, '36, '37, and' participated in the girls' gym exhibition, '35, '36, '37. Like a ntimber of other girls of the senior class she plans to study nursing. EDWIN EBY Ned is planning to enter the University ot Mich- igan, where he will study aeronautical engineering. He is also very much interested in radio. He has played sousaphone in the band, '35, '36, '37, and in South Haven's nine piece swing band. He joined the Current Events Club, '36, the Auto Club, '37 and participated in the gym exhibition, '35, '36, '37. His favorite past-time-reading. FRIEDA ELY Frieda has belonged to the Debate Club, '35, the 'l'ravel Club, '36, and the Knitting Club, '37. She has also participated in the girls' gym exhibition. '35, '36, '37. She is interested in biology and spends her leisure time making collections of in- sects and leaves. Likes to read and hike. Known by all her friends as Free. This year she played Edith in the play, An.ithcr Beginning, presented at Bangor in january. As a sophomore she participated in the declamation contest. lier favorite amusements are reading and seeing movies. She plans to attend beauty culture school next year. ARTHUR ANDREWS Art is very much interested in chemistry, par- ticularly photography. Ile spends much of his time working in the school chemistry lab and in his back shed which he has htted tip lor his own personal lab, As a junior he was a member ol the Chemistry Club and prepared an interesting project on panit pigments for the May exhibit. Known by all his friends as Rod. Perhaps Rocl's interest in aeronautical engineering may be attributed to the fact that one of his most interesting hobbies has been the building of model airplanes.
