Grunst ot Grand Haven, Michigan, attended Muskegon junior College, received his Bachelor of Arts degree. from Hope College, and has studied at the University of Michigan. for one summer. As a teacher ot American and World History in Senior High School, Mr. Grunst enjoys reading and particularly dislikes student excuses. HORTENSE GUILFORD Hortense Guilford, French and English Literature instructor-in Senior High School, is from VVauseon, Ohio. She attended Albion College, VV'est Reserve University, Micclebury College, and La Sar- bonne, Paris, France. Her Bachelor of Arts degree was received from Albion College. People who don't do what they have said they will at the appointed time annoy her most ol all. Reading, horseback riding, swimming, dancing, and especially travel are her particular interests. MARIAN HAMILTON Marian Hamilton from Kalamazoo, Michigan earned a Bache- lor of Arts degree from Western State Teachers' College. - She ts the instructor in Physical Education and Hygiene in junior and Senior High Schools. Her pct peeves are people who can't' take jokes. Hunting, horseback riding, and swimming are her particular interests. ELIZABETH HATHAWAY Elizabeth Hathaway is one ot the junior High teachers of Eng- lish and -lunior Business Training. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree there. Her home town iz: Hastings, Michigan. Cats are her pct peeve, and hiking is her hobby. EVELYN KELLY Our teacher of Bookkeeping and Typewriting, Evelyn Kelly, Qnflldfd Gregg College, the University of VVisconsin, and Iowa State Teachers' College, she received a Bachelor ot Arts degree from the latter. Reading, recipes, music, sports, travel, and bridge are Miss Kelly's chief interests. Her home town is VViIliamsburg, Iowa. Movie interpreters are her pet peeves. THOMAS KERREY Michigan State is the College trom which Thomas Kerrey re- ceived his Bachelor ot Science degree. He also attended Cornell University. Mr. Kerrey is instructor in Biology and Agriculture. He was bornf in Manistee, Michigan, and is especially interested in travel, horses, and jersey cattle. LINDA CROSBY Linda Crosby from East Lansing, Michigan, teaches American History, Geography, and Lbmmercial Civics in junior High. She is a graduate ot the University ot Michigan, holding a Bachelor ot Arts degree. Her pet peeve is people who blow horns at stop lights. Horseback riding and sewing are her particular interests. ELEANORE DEN NERT I.atin, Literature, and English composition are the subjects which Eleanore Dennert from Hart, Michigan, teaches. She has attended both VVestern State Teachers' College and the University ot Mich- igan, having received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the former. Milk and water excuses annoy Miss Dennert most. Canoeing, reading, and knitting take up her time tor recreation. IRENE EH RLICH Miss Irene Ehrlich, of Des Plaines, Illinois, teaches History and I-lnglish in the junior and Senior High Schools. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University. People who d'1n't sit up straight particularly annoy Miss Ehrlich. KATHRYN ELLIS - Kathryn Ellis, a graduate of Northwestern I'niversity where she earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree, has also attended Carleton College. She is instructor in vocal music in the South Ilaven Public Schools. Her home town is VViImette, Illinois. She derives a great deal of enjoyment from both athletics and dancing. Iardiness to appointments annoys her most. ELAINE EPPLER Elaine Eppler, instructor in English, History, and Geography in ,Iunior High, comes from Utica, Michigan. She was a student at Michigan State Normal College and the University of Michigan, having earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the latter.. Boring movies and puns are her pet peeves, whereas horshack riding, goli, and the legitimate theater comprise her hobbies. FRIEDA FEEDORE Frieda Feedore is a secretary in the High School and is from South Haven. She graduated from South Haven High School Knitting and travel particularly interest her. LYNN FREEMAN Lynn Freeman atten g , , State Teachers' College, and the General Motor Institute. He teaches wood-working, General shop, and Drawing in junior and Senior High School. His home town was Ypsilanti, Michigan. Trailer building and mechanics are his chief interests. VIRGINIA GRANT Virginia Grant, teacher of Home Economics and English in our school, comes from Reed City, Michigan. She earned a Bachelor ot Science degree at Michigan State College. Reading and swim- ming comprise her hobbiesg her pet peeve is people who quibble over marks. OTTO GREIN Reed City, Michigan was the home town of Otto Grein, teacher of Economics and American Government in Senior High School. Having received his Bachelor nt Science degree from VVestern State Teachers' College, Mr. Grein, for the past two years has attended summer school at the University of Michigan. MICHAEL R. LISTIAK The teacher of Instrumental Music and the director of Band and Orchestra in our school is Michael R. Listiak from Minneapolis, Minnesota. lt was there that he attended the University of Minne- sota and received his Bachelor ot Science degree. Later he at- tended summer school at the Eastman School ot Music in Rochester, New York. Mr. I.istiak's chiet interest is in arranging music. W. L. MAULSBY 'l'he Mathematics and Penmansliip teacher in junior High is Mr. Maulshy formerly ot Marshalltown, iowa. He has attended Iowa State Teachers' College, the University ot Minnesota, and Cornell University where he obtained a Bachelor ot Science de- gree. Things in nature chiefly interest him. L. C. MOHR The Superintendent ot South Haven Public Schools is Mr. L. C. Mohr. He has studied at Adrian College, Columbia University, and at the University ot Michigan. MARGARET MU RPHY Margaret Murphy, Homemaking instructor in junior and Senior High, attended Purdue University where she received her Bachelor ot Science degree in Home Economics. She derives a good deal ot enjoyment out of the Palmer House Ensemble and from current topics. She attended Hope College and the University of Michigan and received her Bachelor ot Arts and Master of Science degrees from these schools, respectively. Miss Schnuoberger is a resident ot South Haven. Her hobby is music. ALTA STA U FFER Speech, English, and Dramatics are taught in Senior High School by Alta Stanlter from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Miss Stautter at- tended Central State Teachers' College at Stevens Point, Wisconsin, where she earned a Bachelor of Education degree, and the Uni- versity ot VVisconsin. ALONZO WIERENGA Fulton, Illinois was the home town of the instructor in Physics, Plane Geometry, Trigonometry, and Solid Geometry, Mr. VVierenga. ,He is an alumnus ot Hope College where he received a Bachelor ot Arts degree and ot the University of Michigan from which he obtained a Master oi Arts degree. His special interests are water purification and amateur radio. People who don't keep their dogs tied when necessary is one oi his several pet peeves.
