The girls' prac- tice consisted of differ- ent drills and new jumps. As they prac- ticed, individuals were presented with pres- sure situations both mentally and physical- ly. Coach Balcomb worked us hard, but now we are enjoying the victories, said Cassie Jamison. The summer prac- tices took the girls into a 7-8 pre-season kup- set, but once they got started in district games they were hard to stop. In pre-season we played a lot of tough teams and I think we're gonna go pretty far, said Kathy Randolph. At the end of the first half of dis- trict play, the team was in first place with a 5-0 season. Coach Bal- comb said that in order to remain in first place, Duncanville and Grand Prairie High would be the toughest teams to beat. GET THAT BALL . . .
