Amidst a tropical setting of palm trees drifted strains of the theme, Blue Hawaii . . fiftieth state. The procession of the attendants and queen across the bridge spanning the lagoon to the throne was the highlight of the evening. Partici- pating as flower girl and crown bearer, respec- tively, were Marjorie Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Clark, and Kent Clark, brother of the queen. The radiant queen, Emilie Clark, received her crown from her predecessor, Ann McBride. She reigned over several hundred dancers, and the prom was proclaimed by many to be one of the loveliest in years. Ray Nelson's orchestra furnished the music and rendered many tunes which blended in very well with the island theme. Chaperones were: Miss Marilyn Empie and Mr. Thomas Gorman, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Judson Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Jones, Mr. and Mrs. A. Morton Raych, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Solberg, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur James. at' and a moonlit blue lagoon, . in honor of our soon-to-be .R 13517 ,i I 'v - f .9 f if J F Q- ! 6 5 i ,I Q., fn ,ig ,437 ni' ff ll I
