As you near the end of the i959 Arrowhead, allow me the privilege of using s last page to thank those who contributed to its success. Only those who participated this project . . . students, faculty members, photographers, and printers . . . can fully preciate the satisfaction experienced at the completion of the yearbook. We are grateful the school staff for allowing us to disrupt their schedule in order to take pictures. l iuld especially like to express my appreciation to those responsible for giving me the ivilege of being editor. We would never have successfully completed the Arrowhead without the help of 2 many people who so unselfishly gave of their time. Mr. Gorman, who also was the isiness advisor, had the job of proofreading along with Mr. Walker. Also very valuable us in the art and English departments were Miss Frascatore and Mrs. Kelleher respec- fely. Most of the pictures in this yearbook were taken by Ramark Studio of Schenectady id the printing was done by Bullard-Glencraft Printing, Incorporated, of Glens Falls. idge Solberg was responsible for the designing of the cover, the end sheets, the title nge and the section divisors. The cooperation given by all was greatly appreciated. We were fortunate in having Mr. Raych as our advisor. l-lis experience with year- ioks proved invaluable, not only in planning this Arrowhead, but also in teaching the :iff members many things about the production of a book of this type. This knowledge ll be especially valuable in future years to the underclassmen who worked with us on is project. I hope that you enjoyed reminiscing over the past year as you read this book. was a pleasure to have worked on it. EDITOR-l N-Cl l l EF The format of this book is based upon the artistic experiments of the Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian N872-l9447. By l9l7, in Holland, these had developed into the movement known as De Stijl or The Style. The Style makes use of right angles, straight lines, primary colors, and asymmetrical, or occult, balance. The Style has had a colossal impact upon all levels of contemporary art until - its origin forgotten -- it has become practically synonymous with modern design. 56
