Tennis Hlzampzm 1952 South High's T952 net men completed another undefeated season and once again vvon the Sara- toga County League Championship. The six man squad consisted of Loren Rhodes, first singles, Bob NlcMorris, second singles, and Newell Bahr, third singles, while Dave Gabriel, Harold Granger and Bill Glacy all alternated in the doubles as Coach Lewis Smith saw fit. Our first match was with Corinth, whom we defeated in a nail-biting match by a score of 3-2. ' CL The team next iourneyed to Ballston where they won by a score of 4-l. The Bulldogs improved as time vvent on and at Schuylerville they easily vvon a 5-O victory. Sparfs Snap if'-TONE GAM fs. Baseball 1952 ln 1953, Coach Lyle Gray's diamoneers wound up another successful baseball season, winning 7 while losing 5. Sparked by the high, hard one of ace chucker Jack Potter and the steady clubbing of Clint Chapman C3335 and Dick Allen l.3l6J, the squad rolled through their Saratoga County League schedule with but 2 defeats. The team, which carried the Bulldogs through most of their encounters, found Ed Potter at the backstop with brother Jack or Gary Duell chuck- ing. Re- serves included Dave Flagg, Bill Cutler, Don Allen, and Jack Conklin. The Bulldogs went through their regular sea- son League play with a 6 win, l loss record which threw them into a tie for first with Corinth. A playoff followed with the Graymen coming out on the short end of a 6-4 verdict which Corinth pulled out of the fire in the last inning. It was a heartbreaker to lose but the boys took it in stride and once again went up the cry wait till next year .
