JAMES BENJAMIN MERRIWEATHER A. B. Morris Brown College M. A. New York University Adv. Studies - New York University Principal of South Girard High School 1946 to 1961

Page 9 text:

Each year the privilege of extending best wishes to you is seemingly more vital than the year before. Your accomplishments are many: your basic goals have been reached, and now you move into what was yesterday's tomorrow. -The road ahead is prepared for those who wish to exert the effort to suc- ceed provided we can and do understand that success is to be measured by many yardsticks and the least of these is material wealth. May you enjoy many blessings through service to your fellowmen. Sincerely, Warren Richards, Assistant Superintendent

Prilmjml is Message It was just a matter of a few years ago for some of you and to others, it is still a new adventure. I speak of the day that each of you entered high school. Needless to say, that for some, it was simply the step of moving from one grade to the other. Let me remind each of you of the importance of facing reality and grasping every oppor- tunity to drink from the fountain ofknowledge. THIS IS REALITY! There are no limita- tions to education and it is unheard of to feel that you have secured enough. Classify yourselves among the thousands of girls and boys who are making decisions about their future professions. Be ever mindful of the fact that between your parents and your alma mater, the support that you will receive will only be surpassed by our desire to see you as wholesome young men and women who are taking your places in a progressing society. TO OUR SENIORS: CONGRATULATIONS! You have indeed been a significant part of our family. We shall be quite aware of your absence in the years to come, yet, reminded of you because of the contributions that you have made in your individual ways. TO OUR FACULTY: Again, I take pride in expressing appreciation to you for your remarkable support of our program. It has not been easy but the load is always lifted when you have the cooperation of an unselfish faculty, as you. TO OUR P. T. A: You are indeed the foundation of our school. We thrive be- cause of you. Your unending labor in our behalf have given us an opportunity to meet the complexities of a school year.
