Homecoming began with the tradition of deco- rating the halls and stairwells for color day. F.H.A.'s library hall was again named the best. At the homecoming game, fes- tivities began at kick-off when hundreds of red, white, and blue balloons were let oft by both stu- dents and exes. During halftime, spectators excitedly awaited the announcement ofthe new home- coming queen, Laurie McKenzie. All eyes were then turned toward the sky from which lighted con- gratulations were sent to Laurie from an airplane. Emptiness ls. Despite the fact that there was a smaller enrollment at S.G. this year, the halls and classrooms seemed just as crowded. Going to a football game or attempting to pass through the lunch line called for extreme patience and armored shoes. Elbow-room was an unknown luxury during this year's pep-rallies. The simple task of walking from class to class was very difficult and con- fusing, especially when a busy intersection was approached. Because of all this, finding time alone was a highly unusual expe- rience. 1. Students manage to show their pride, even among the swarms of people at the football games. 2. In spite of the crowded conditions, Juniors still made their appearance at the pep-rallies. OPPOSITE PAGE: 1. Once a seat was found in the freshman section, keeping it became a problem. 2. Finding a place to sit in the cafeteria was so hard many were forced to stand. 3. Jana Gordon enjoys a special momentalone.
