Musical Carousel Reveals Talent After much hard work and long hours of practice, the musical Car- ousel was presented by the choral department at South Garland Octo- ber 26 and 27. The cast involved over one hundred choir members. The members of the cast showed more of S.Gfs talent by giving supe- rior performances to a capacity-filled auditorium both Friday and Saturday nights. The musical was directed by Mr. Jerry Baxter, Choral Director at South Garland. This was Mr. Baxterls first year here, and the musical proved that South Garland's choirs were in for big things in the future. The plot of Carousel was centered around the romance between Billy Bigelow fGary Smithj and Julie Jor- dan fBeverly Millerj. The songs in the musical included If I Loved You, June is Busting Out All Overf' and You,ll Never Walk Alone.
