SG Band Wins Again The Great S.C. Band kept up its record of wins at U.I.L. competition by walking away with three number one ratings. This was the highest possible score any band could obtain. With a total of thirteen first place wins, our band has provided excellent entertainment during half- time at all Colonel games, and at the SMU vs. Texas Tech game. Top left: Alan Wilson tries to ignore Paul's funny sounds. Top right: Dale Wommack laughs because Paul Meggs will never make A Cappella. Bottom: The Band displays one of its numerous marching routines at half- time.

Sentries Back The Colonels No, those six guys dressed alike who help promote spirit during games and pep rallies are not six clownsg Colonel fans discovered they are the Sentries. And the guy who always wears the southern out- fit is not dressed for a costume partyg he is the Colonel. The Colo- nel and Sentries are chosen for their leadership and outstanding qualities. They guard the bell and the Colonel flag. Sezuors Learn to Share Saturday, December 16, the Sen- ior Class sponsored a party for underprivileged children. Everyone was served turkey and dressing, and Jann Hill played the piano to help entertain the children. The Christ- mas story was told by Joe Dirick and Mikah Mitchellg Patti Manuel told the story of the Christ child and a skit of the three bears was presented by Wendy Wheeler, Janie Robbins, Lance Leslie, and Kevin Shaw. Danny Russell was Santa Claus. The party was a tremendous success and helped brighten up everyone's Christmas. Top: Sandy Hunt watches as Debbie Hobaugh and Sheryl Moon exhaust their efforts in try- ing to get their children to eat. Bottom lejir Judy Cisneros finds that balloons are often considered more entertaining that Clowns. Bottom right: Danny Russell laughs at the extra pounds Shannon Shipley has put on.
