Drotitable Each member of the Future Farmers had a project which they worked on all year. They selected animals to work with such as calves, pigs, or chickens. Many shows were entered by the FFA such as the Fort Worth Stock Show, where they en- tered the Poultry judging Contest. FFA mem- bers entered 3 dairy animals, 7 lambs, and 18 beef heifers. Three dairy animals were also en- tered in the San Antonio Stock Show. In February, the FFA entered a livestock and dairy judging contest. One of the mem- bers, Russell Walker, entered a Calf Scramble Contest in which the winner won 3200 to pur- chase another calf to raise for the next year. A Meat Judging Contest was held in April at the Garland Safeway Store. Also in March, a local show was held. In late October, the club planned the activities for American Education Week and gave an all day tea for the teachers. In March, the state F,T.A. Convention was held in Houston. Then along with the Student Council, F.T.A. baked cookies and provided the teachers with goodies for Teachers Appreciation Week. Later in the spring, the members went to ele- mentary schools for Observation Day. In May, the club had a luncheon in honor of the senior members.
