Cries of The South has Risenw could be heard ringing throughout the southern section of town after September 25, the night the Fighting Colonels DID south- ern fryi' the Garland Owls. Beating the cross- town rivals was only the beginning for the Colonels of 70-71, as everyone was soon to find out. Pride, guts, determination and brute force carried the Colonels to the title of Dis- trict Co-Champs Then on to Bi-District Champs, after beating Texarkana in a nerve- racking game, and finally to defeat at the hands of Corsieana.
