New Year Begins . . . SG Comes Aliv As students began to get into the swing of things, SG buzzed with activity. The back to school dance, sponsored by the Student Coun- cil, was held in the cafeteria September 5. Sophomore elections produced the leaders of that class. Spirit in the first pep rally was run- ning high as everyone anticipated an exciting season. ' 'With the advent of the new school year, came the usual moneymaking projects spon- sored by the clubs and the classes. There was, of course, brownie selling at break l Teachers, would you please excuse . . fl. The juniors sold Colonel booster hats to add to their funds. There were bake sales and car washes, and even a car bash sponsored by the FCA. Organization and planning became key words at South Garland. The Executive Council held its first workshop for General Assembly mem- bers and class officers to get the Student Council off to a good start. ...wg , Vf.s:s 'T . . tf'e ii 's 'S ies: LEFT TOP.' While in Gar- land, Stefano, fvvho prefers to be called Steve, lived with Clint and Betsy Brown and their family. Stevels five course schedule this year is rela- tively long compared to his 12 hours in Italy. Steve,s stay here in Garland has been very rewarding to us and we hope to him.
